Questions worth asking first
If something here isn't clear, the answer is probably that we'd rather tell you now than after you've paid.
Do I talk to a real person?
No. The conversation partner is an AI that chats naturally and never corrects you mid-conversation. The correcting happens afterwards, from the transcript.
What do I get for free?
Your first diagnostic conversation, and the profile it produces. Membership is what unlocks roadmaps, practice sessions and the check-in reports.
I'm a native speaker. Is this for me?
Yes, and it's a real use case rather than a stretch. If the words are already easy, what's left is delivery: the filler words you don't hear yourself say, the pauses you skip, a pitch that stays flat through the sentence that mattered, a story with no turn in it. The Speech Studio measures all of that against your own baseline and drills it.
Which languages can I work on?
English and French, and the interface is available in both independently. So you can read the app in English and work on French, read it in French and work on English, or use it to sharpen the language you already speak natively.
I already know the grammar rules. Is this for me?
Probably more than you'd expect. The diagnosis looks at the forms you actually produce under conversational pressure, not the ones you can recite. Most people find at least one rule they'd explain correctly on a test and still get wrong when talking.
Does it know my first language?
If you tell it. Every rule primer carries a note on why that particular rule trips up speakers of your first language — currently Bangla, English, French, Spanish and Hindi. It's the difference between being told a rule and being told why your instinct fights it.
Is my audio or video uploaded?
No. The Speech Studio downloads speech models to your device and runs them there, so recordings never leave your browser. Only the derived measurements — pace, pitch range, pauses — are saved to your account.
Why can't I just chat whenever I want?
Conversations sit at the two ends of a cycle so each one measures something: the first diagnoses, the last checks what changed. Unlimited chat would make both transcripts, and the report comparing them, meaningless.
Why does a step have to be 100% before it clears?
Because a step you passed at 80% is a step with a mistake still in it. Misses are saved and come back. Every run is recorded, but only your first attempt at each item counts as evidence, so repeating a step can't inflate your profile.
Can I cancel?
Yes, in one click from the billing portal. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, and subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
What's the difference with the Lifetime plan?
Lifetime covers the app forever, but AI usage runs on your own Anthropic API key — you create one and paste it into Settings, and you pay Anthropic directly for what you use. The monthly and yearly plans include AI usage.
